The 18th AFIR Colloquium: Financial Risk in a Changing World

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that the 18th AFIR Colloquium will be held in Rome from September 30 to October 3, 2008.
As usual, the AFIR Colloquium represents a unique chance to gather all actuaries involved in financial issues. In addition, it offers the opportunity to share actuarial skills and quantitative techniques with stakeholders. We are convinced that this is particularly important in a moment in which social and economical conditions are rapidly changing and growing importance is attributed to financial risk related matters.
We thus hope that the program of this edition will both meet your interests and reflect as close as possible the state of the arts, creating the most favourable conditions to stimulate lively debates and lead to the development of practical solutions.
Since, similarly to past editions, the success of the Colloquium ultimately depends on your presence, my Italian colleagues and myself look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in Rome.
